Week 8 Lines
Just a heads up, there is a party here tonight from 5-7 using all the lanes.
It’s starting to get real, BoPo. For the first time in any BoPo league not everyone makes the playoffs. These regular season games count. That said, the top 8 have a little separation from the gave-nots right now. Some team on the outside looking in will need to take full advantage of those 60 potential points still out there.
#6 Green Bowl Packers (-1) vs #5 Autodraft: A few weeks ago Autodraft was on auto pilot and in 1st place. Now teams are beating them, grabbing zero or one point against league top bowler Stevie Strikes, but picking up enough after that to win. Autodraft is a totally different team when T-$ is their #2, and he could be there tonight. The Packers have been surprising not in the fact that they’re winning, but that they’re winning without Jerk putting up big numbers. He’s bound to snap out of it soon. This should be a great battle.
#2 Catalina Wine Mixer (-1) vs #8 Strike-A-Thon: Another great matchup. Precious will try to chase Oz all night to at least take the bullet for his team. Then Catalina’s depth kicks in. Xander’s team is more desperate for points, but I think they fall one short of the win.
#11 XX Chance Missed (-9) vs #12 Shot Pot Honey: The only way either of these teams gets back in the huint is with a 15-0 win, and even that might not be enough. I think the XXers make one last stand and cruise to a 12-3 win.
#1 4 Boobs and Some Nutz (-5) vs # 7Team GB: Everyone in the bottom half is cheering for the Boob/Nutz in this one, hoping they can make up ground on the 7th place GBs. Nuber put up big numbers last week, but the Boob/Nutz are loaded. I think they’ll make everyone happy tonight.
#4 Chemical Sweatpants (-1) vs #3 Drive Thrus: This has the potential to be another great showdown. The Sweats have the #1 average in the league and the DT’s are 3rd. They are separated in the standings by 2 points. Cheddar leads Hungus by 2 pins, but Hungus has three more 200+ games. This is the biggest battle for BEER top dog since Spuds McKenzie and Alex from Strohs. General Tso has been the breakout star of the league, though, and the depth of Cookie, Slow Roll and Bubbles should give the Sweats the slight edge.
#10 Dick’s Picks (-3) vs #9 Das Boot: The Picks are peeping about an unlikely playoff run. Well, if they want to have any chance, they need to win big against the team right in front of them. Das Boot hasn’t given up the dream yet either and a win for them gets them back in the race and knocks out a competitor.

Week 6 Lines
First, some honors.
Week 5 Bowlers of the Week: Dick Liquor, Dick’s Picks and Valley Girl Jess, Green Bowl Packers
Dick Liquor continues his climb up the rankings. He rolled a 626 series, narrowly edging Hungus’ 622. Unfortunately, his team still fell 9-6. On the ladies’ side, Valley Girl Jess made her debut with a 169-183-178 series, also in a loss for her team. Nice rolling.
The Lines:
#9 Strike-A-Thon (-1) vs #11 Dick’s Picks: Two OCers duke it out with Oz going up against Dick Liquor. Oz has been the more consistent of the two but Dick’s hot right now. The number twos look even as well in Pistol Pete vs Shifter Pawl. Hacksaw is out of town, but Xander will find a way to get the edge. Both teams really ned the points to get into playoff contention.
#7 Green Bowl Packers (-3) vs #8 XX Chance Missed: Heading into the bye week, the Packers have a chance to solidify their spot as a playoff contender and get some separation from the free-for-all for 8th place. Jerk will have to face down his old charge, the excitable Hot Mango Mike. Mango has been a breakout player this season, and teams with Natro for an unlikely but successful duo. The Valley Girl Jess vs Peanut matchup bears watching.
#10 Das Boot (-9) vs #12 Shot Pot Honey: SPH lost 2nd round draft pick Harlyn P before the season began, and may have found a replacement with Oolie. Still, Das Boot is too good to be stuck in 10th, and they hope for a blowout win to get out of the basement region.
#4 Catalina Wine Mixer (-3) vs #5 Team GB: The Wine Mixers have gelled as well as any team in the league. They look like a BoPo team out there with their camraderie. Oh, plus Precious has started bowling lights out. His job tonight will be to hang with Gutterboy while his teammates rack up the points.
#2 Autodraft vs #3 The Drive Thrus: Nice matchup here, but the Drive Thrus take a hit with this being the McBooth transition week, just as the McQueen portion of McBooth was catching fire. Autodraft fell a litle in the standings with T-$ out, but if he’s back they’ll regroup in a hurry.
#6 Chemical Sweatpants (-1) vs #1 4 Boobs and Some Nutz: These are the top 2 teams in the league in terms of team average, so expect a shootout. The Sweats have gone over 2000 pins and led the league each of the last three weeks, but La Gatita, Walter and Hot Sauce keep throwing 200’s like it was their job. This is going to be an amazing battle, with the difference coming down to Slow Roll and Bubbles vs Easy E and Sasha Northfield.

Catching up, and lines (Championship pot at $232!)
Long time no write. First, old news:
Week 3 Bowlers of the Week: General Tso, Chemical Sweatpants, and La Gatita, 4 Boobs and Some Nutz
The General had 2 200+ games and averaged 196 and led the then last place Sweats to a 15-0 win over Strike-A-Thon. La Gatita rolled a season high for ladies of 233 (with teammates Hot Sauce and Walter right behind her with matching 212s) to help defeat Catalina Wine Mixer 9-6.
Week 4 Bowlers of The Week: Steve McQueen, Drive Thrus, and Rufio, Team GB
McQueen has been off to a slow start, and has only one week left before he is replaced by the Booth half of McBooth. After last week, The Drive Thrus will be very sad to see him go. He rolled a 220-216-244 series to pace them to a 15-0 shellacking of Dick’s Picks. We’ll see how he handles the emotions of his final week tonight.
Rufio led all Team GB rollers in game 2 for them with a very nice 206 to take top point. She then followed it up with a solid 160 as Team GB swept game three to beat Das Boot 11.5-3.5
Week 5 Lines:
#5 4 Boobs and Some Nutz (-11) vs #12 Shot Pot Honey: The Boobs won last week and fell from 2nd place to 5th. With points being at such a premium, don’t expect them to show any mercy to Shot Pot. Mired in last, Shot Pot hasn’t yet shown any signs that they are going to turn it around. Diesel needs to heat up.
#2 Catalina Wine Mixer (-7) vs #11 Dick’s Picks: The Wine Mixers don’t have anyone in the top-15, but as a team are number two. Pow! They are solid throughout and are wearing some slick unis, hinting at good team chemistry. Pow pow! The Picks need to dust themselves off in a hurry after last week’s beatdown from Steve McQueen and co. Only eight teams make the playoffs, and while there is plenty of season left, they don’t want to fall too far out of the hunt.
#6 Chemical Sweatpants (-3) vs #9 Das Boot: After being in last place for the first two weeks, the Sweats have taken 26 of 30 points the last two weeks to vault into 6th. General Tso has been as hot as anyone, and Hungus is only a point behind him as they are 5th and 6th in the league. Das Boot needs Mr. Stiffy and Pauly Ringwald to come up big as they are currently on the outside looking in for the playoffs.
#4 Team GB (-1) vs #10 Strike-A-Thon: Strike-A-Thon is better than 10th place, but have been throttled the last two weeks. Still, with their rollers, they will rebound. Team GB has reigning bowler of the week Rufio to accompany Gutterboy and pals, and are solid throughout. This should be the game of the night.
#3 Drive Thrus (-1) vs #7 Green Bowl Packers: The Drive Thrus are coming off a 15-0 win and should be emotional for bowler of the week McQueen’s last game with the team. Jerk is probably looking forward to chance to take down a Cheddar squad, and Bustah always gets fired up for such a matchup. I think the Drive Thrus pull this one out, barely, with a little more depth.
#1 Autodraft (-11) vs #8 XX Chance Missed: Autodraft, while dominating, is still only 2 points ahead of the 5th place team. They have the #1 and #2 bowlers in the league in Stevie Strikes and T-$, and no weak links. the XXers should get fired up for this one, an Natro is due for a big night. In the end, though, Autodraft is just a relentless machine that will wear them down.

Week 3 Lines
Strike-A-Thon (-1) vs Chemical Sweatpants: There is a sense of urgency in the Sweatpants for this one, as they are in last place and in desperate need of points. No one wants to face Sweatpants that have been backed into a corner. Strike-A-Thon tries on their new name, and Oz (#6 in avg) and Shifter Pawl (#8) lead the way. They also have Tom Richards’ mojo, which may cripple Hungus.
Autodraft (-9) vs Team GB: This game would have been a lot more exciting but Gutterboy is out. Stevie Strikes and T-$ are still #1/#2 in the league, and they have nothing but solid contributors after that in Chernobyl, Lt. and Barry. Number One will assume the role of captain for Team GB and do what he can, but they could be held pointless if Rufio and Beaujolais don’t come up big.
Das Boot (-5) vs XX Chance Missed: Uncle Buck had a huge game last week for Das Boot, giving them another weapon behind their top dogs Mr. Stiffy and Pauly Ringwald. XX needs Natro to regain his form, which may require no less than two but no more than 4 beer frames.
Drive Thrus (-9) vs Shot Pot Honey: The Drive Thrus are hungry for their first win of the season, and Shot Pot looks like they may be the unfortunate victim. New Shot Potter Marne Asada played well, but there may not be enough behind Diesel to stay competitive. Meanwhile Double Cheese (last week’s bowler of the week) and Cheddar are playing well for a Drive Thru team that knows they have Booth showing up in a few weeks. This game has the biggest spread in team averages (66 pins) which probably is all you need to know.
4 Boobs and Some Nutz (-3) vs Catalina Wine Mixer: While Autodraft could run away and hide with the top seed, 4 Boobs looks like they could be a contender for the #2 slot all season. They are currently second in average, but Catalina is right behind them in 3rd. These two teams are all about consistency, as neither has a top 10 bowler yet they are excelling as teams. La Gatita roared back with a final game 225 last week, and Shithawk and Precious are building on their familiarity. I feel like Walter is ready for a statement week, however, despite having to hear all night about his little brother’s hyper-finicky music tastes.
Green Bowl Packers (-7) vs Dick’s Picks: Jerk is back, and looking for vengeance. Too much peace and love in Vermont and now he’s just ready to cold kill some pins. Bustah collapsed without his captain around, but will bounce back with the whole gang all together. Add to that Uncle Jesse rolling really well and you have a winning combination. Dick’s squad has been wild, featuring crazy point swings, with bowlers just as likely to roll a 100 or a 200. That inconsistency will hurt them against a deep Packers crew.
